Overview:
The European Union introduced restrictions under REACH on the use of products containing more than 0.1% monomeric diisocyanates. These restrictions apply to a range of polyurethane products, including adhesives, sealants, coatings and injection products used in industrial production and construction

What does REACH stand for?
REACH stands for Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation and Restriction of Chemicals
REACH is a chemical regulatory framework designed to protect human health and the environment from the potential risks associated with chemical substances, while supporting the competitiveness of the chemical industry

UK REACH Requirements:
Under UK REACH, restrictions apply to the use of products containing more than 0.1% monomeric diisocyanates
These requirements apply to products such as polyurethane adhesives, sealants and foams used in industrial and construction applications
From 24 August 2023, professionals and industrial users are required to complete appropriate training before using products subject to the restriction

DIY users are not affected by this training requirement

Required PU Training:
If you use Fastcure 2000, Sika polyurethane sealants, or other products covered by the diisocyanate restriction, you must complete the appropriate PU training before use
